What Is The Difference Between KN95 Mask And N95 Mask

- Sep 25, 2020-

The KN95 mask uses the national standard GB2626-2019. The N95 mask uses 42 CFR Part 84, the American NIOSH standard.

N means Not resistant to oil, which can be used to protect non-oily suspended particles; 95 means that the filtration efficiency is greater than or equal to 95%. Therefore, both N95 and KN95 indicate that the filtration performance of non-oily particles can reach more than 95%, and they can provide better protection in daily life.

KN95 masks and N95 masks are used in non-medical places to prevent all kinds of aerosol particles suspended in the air, including dust, smoke, fog, and pathogenic microorganisms (such as bacteria and viruses).

Both KN95 masks and N95 masks are equipped with breathing valve and without breathing valve. Masks without exhalation valve can effectively prevent the droplets discharged by the mask wearer from polluting the surrounding environment. Masks with exhalation valve do not have this function. Therefore, it is best to buy a mask without a breathing valve.

KN95 masks and N95 masks do not have the function of blocking the penetration of bodily fluid splashes, and cannot be used for medical operations, especially for high-risk operations that may be splashed, such as tracheotomy and intubation.

KN95 masks and N95 masks may not be suitable for people who are weak or have cardiopulmonary diseases, and they may not be suitable for patients with respiratory diseases who have difficulty breathing.
